Father ‘sells’ son for N250,000 in Lagos(Photo)

A Liberian, Daniel Barnney, is being held by the police for allegedly selling his nine-month-old son Emmanuel to a 43-year-old woman, Ekah Richard, for N250,000.

Barnney, one Pastor Samuel Osavitu and a worker at an orphanage, Alhaji Sunkanmi Adamu, are being quizzed at Festac Police Station over the matter.

Revered lawyer Ricky Tarfa, SAN, arrested by EFCC yesterday

Senior Advocate of Nigeria and one of the most respected lawyers in Nigeria, Ricky Tarfa, was reportedly arrested by the EFCC yesterday evening Friday Feb. 5th at the premises of the Lagos High Court in Igbosere, Lagos Island, for alleged obstruction of justice.

During a meeting with Nigerians in London on Thursday, pres. Buhari said that his administration within 3 months saved N2.2 trillion through the enforcement of the Treasury Single Account.

According to media aide to Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose, Lere Olayinka, a warrant of arrest has been issued for former PDP secretary in Ekiti state, Tope Aluko. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, February 3, arraigned Sabo Sani Labaran before Justice Abubakar Jauro of the Gombe State High Court sitting in Gombe, on a 2-count charge bordering on impersonation and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N242,000.00..

The offence is contrary to Section 1 sub-section 1(a) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act 2006 and punishable under Section 1 sub-section 3 of the same Act.

Kenyan activist and photojournalist, Boniface Mwangu shared disturbing videos of a pregnant woman being battered by her husband while neighbours watched helplessly. Below is what he wrote:

Three people have been confirmed dead after a light aircraft crashed into the shacks of Benoni in Johannesburg, South Africa this afternoon. The three victims were the only passengers on the aircraft. "Paramedics found the bodies of three people lying inside the aircraft," ER24 medical service told News24 website
