detained by the Lagos State Police Command for questioning over the
sudden death of video vixen and choreographer Love Divine, popularly

<p>It is being speculated that Kodak who passed away on Wednesday, April 29 died from electrocution at Peters’ residence.</p><div><div class="sureview-content"></div></div><p></p>

<p>The spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Bala Elkana while
speaking with The Guardian, confirmed that Peters is still in police
custody and is “being questioned, along with a few others”. He further
stated that the police are “investigating the circumstances around her
[Kodak] death”.</p>
<p>“It is a full investigation. We are probably looking at murder. We
are not concluding at this stage. If she died of electrocution according
to reports, it is left for us to find out. Was she actually
electrocuted? What went wrong? An autopsy will also show”, Bala said.</p>
<p>Peters was said to have been working on an isolated shot with Kodak
shortly before her death and others present at his house that day have
all been detained by the police.</p>

in the first half of the year are Peter Obi, Vladimir Putin and Bianca

<p>Ghana has officially confirmed two cases of the Marburg virus, a highly infectious disease similar to Ebola. </p>

<p>Tests conducted in Ghana came back positive on July 10, but the
results had to be verified by a laboratory in Senegal for the cases to
be considered confirmed, according to the World Health Organization.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>One case was a 26-year-old male who checked into a hospital on 26
June 2022 and died on 27 June. The second case was a 51 -year-old male
who reported to the hospital on 28 June and died on the same day. Both
cases sought treatment at the same hospital within days of each other.</p>
<p> </p>
<p data-testid="paragraph-2">Ghana Health Service (GHS) said in a statement; </p>
<p data-testid="paragraph-3"> </p>

<p>“Further testing at the Institute Pasteur in Dakar, Senegal has corroborated the results.”</p>
</blockquote>

<p data-testid="paragraph-3">GHS is working to reduce any risk of the
virus spreading, including the isolation of all identified contacts,
none of whom have developed any symptoms so far, it said.</p>
<p data-testid="paragraph-4"> </p>
<p data-testid="paragraph-4">This is only the second outbreak of Marburg
in West Africa. The first ever case of the virus in the region was
detected last year in Guinea, with no further cases identified.</p>
<p data-testid="paragraph-4"> </p>
<p data-testid="paragraph-7">There have been a dozen major Marburg
outbreaks since 1967, mostly in southern and eastern Africa. Fatality
rates have varied from 24 percent to 88 percent in past outbreaks
depending on the virus strain and case management, according to the WHO.</p>
<p data-testid="paragraph-8"> </p>
<p data-testid="paragraph-8">It is transmitted to people from fruit bats
and spreads among humans through direct contact with the bodily fluids
of infected people, surfaces and materials, the WHO says.</p>
<p data-testid="paragraph-4"> </p>
<p data-testid="paragraph-4">Marburg is a highly infectious viral
haemorrhagic fever in the same family as the more well-known Ebola virus
disease. It is only the second time the zoonotic disease has been
detected in West Africa. Guinea confirmed a single case in an outbreak
that was declared over on 16 September 2021, five weeks after the
initial case was detected.</p>

<p>Sule Lamido, former governor of Jigawa state, has said Governor
Nyesom Wike of Rivers State is a responsible man with some youthful
exuberance.<span></span></p><a name='more'></a><p></p>

<p>Lamido who spoke in an interview with BBC Hausa, also said some
people are inciting Wike after Presidential candidate of the Peoples
Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar picked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta
state over him as his running mate. </p>

<p>He also asked Wike to be humble and learn lessons from Peter Odili and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.</p>

<p>The former Governor said; </p>

of the PDP chose Atiku. Wike contested and lost. Wike is a responsible

with Osinbajo. He should learn a lesson from them.”</p>

governorship candidate of the opposition party in Jigawa state, he
asked why some people are upset with him for loving his son. </p>

<p>A man has dumped his wife for giving birth to twins for the fifth time.<span></span></p><a name='more'></a><p></p>

<p>Nalongo Gloria, from Uganda, was abandoned by husband Ssalongo when she delivered their ninth and tenth child.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>He viewed the multiple births as "not normal", his wife said.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Gloria told NTV Mwasuze Mutya : "When I got pregnant with twins, on
the third day, the man said this is too much for him and told me to go
home.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>"Where he was sending me, I didn't have their numbers anymore because I came to Kampala to work as a house girl."</p>
<p> </p>

<p>Gloria said: "I don't regret giving birth to all these children. I
know their father doesn't like them, and I can't drop them at his place.
Despite the challenges, I will never abandon my kids. I know God will
provide.</p>

<p>"I handed my things to the Lord. I have suffered but God knows best."</p>

<p>President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the medical manpower needed
to curb medical tourism in the country will soon be realised.</p>

<p>Speaking on Monday July 18 at the groundbreaking for the construction
of the Administrative/Senate Building, College of Medicine building and
Principal Officers Quarters at the permanent site of the Federal
University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO) in Otukpo, Benue State,
Buhari who was represented by the Minister of Education, Prof. Adamu
Adamu, said he's impressed that the university’s management had hit the
ground running and has no doubt that the desired impact of producing
high-level medical manpower as well as curbing medical tourism will be
achieved in no distant time.<span></span></p><a name='more'></a><p></p>

<p>Buhari also said that his administration recently approved the sum of
N3billion as a high-impact intervention fund through the Tertiary
Education Trust Fund (Tetfund) for FUHSO to further enhance
infrastructural development that will provide enabling environment for
teaching, learning, research and innovation.</p>

<p>The President also commended the Minister of Education, National
Universities Commission (NUC), Joint Admission and Matriculation Board
(JAMB), and Ministries of Agriculture and Natural Resources for
assisting the new university move speedily to commence academic
programmes within one year of its operation.</p>

the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said the
commission is still in talks with the Central Bank of Nigeria over
storage of electoral materials.</p>

<p>Speaking in an interview with Channels Television on Monday July 18,
Okoye said the commission has never had any issue with the CBN since the
partnership started, but owing to “current circumstances”, an
alternative would be found.<span></span></p><a name='more'></a><p></p>
<p> </p>
<p>The INEC Commissioner also said that the logistics measures taken in
Ekiti and Osun governorship elections will not be sustainable for the
general election.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Okoye who revealed that they employed the services of the Nigerian
Air force for the logistics of the electoral materials, said there's
need to have alternatives because of the huge amount of ballot papers
and other sensitive materials. </p>

<p>“You cannot use the Ekiti governorship election and Osun governorship election as a measure of what will happen in 2023.</p>
<p>“This is because for instance, in the Ekiti governorship election, we
had less than a million registered voters. In the Osun governorship
election, we were shy of two million registered voters. </p>
<p>“These are stand alone elections. For the Ekiti election, we utilised
the service of the Nigerian Air force and they flew the materials into
Akure airport. We did the same thing with the Osun election, and we
moved the materials to our state offices.</p>
<p>“But for the 2023 general election, we are going to have over 95
million ballot papers printed for the presidential election. Over 95
million will be printed for the senatorial election; over 95 million
papers will be printed for the house of representatives election. Then
it goes down.</p>
<p>“It’s going to be a huge logistics nightmare. What we intend to do
going forward since there are issues with keeping our materials with
CBN, we have not had enough opportunity to sit down with the Central
Bank to review the entire issue surrounding our moving our material with
the Nigerian Air force.</p>
<p>“We are definitely going to do that. If at the end of the day, we are
not satisfied with the arrangement then we are going to look for a new
logistics pathway of how to manage logistics during the 2023 elections.
But no decision has been made.</p>
<p>“When you have to move materials to 36 states of the federation and
the capital territory, it’s a completely different ball game.</p>
<p>“What we did in Ekiti and Osun in terms of the general election will
not be sustainable. We need to look for a complete logistics pathway of
how to deal with this particular problem.”</p>

Governor-elect Senator Ademola Adeleke, and other major towns across
the state, following his victory at the weekend poll.<span><a name='more'></a></span></h2><p>The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, who was declared winner
by the Independent national Electoral Commission (INEC), polled 403,371
votes to defeat Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the ruling All Progressives
Congress (APC), who got 375,027 votes.</p>
<p>Residents trooped out to celebrate with traditional drums and brigade bands, singing and dancing at his residence.</p><p>Excited youths and women groups stormed the palace of the traditional
ruler, the Timi of Ede, Oba Muniruden Lawal, to congratulate him and
his chiefs.</p>
<p>Many people on motorcycles and open roof vehicles moved round the town to celebrate the victory.</p><p>Adeleke has hailed the outcome of the poll, which took place in 30 local government areas of the state.</p>
<p>In his acceptance speech at his Ede country home, he dedicated the
victory to the memory of his deceased elder brother and former governor,
Senator Isiaka Adeleke.</p>
<div id="uaqjez-1566466-1655636737-place"><p>The PDP National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, said the outcome of the poll will determine next year’s general elections.</p>
<p>President Muhammadu Buhari has also congratulated the governor-elect,
stressing that the wish of the electorate should be respected in
democracy.</p>
<p>But, Oyetola in his reaction to the verdict, called for calm among
his supporters, saying that the party will react at the appropriate
time. He said the results were being studied by the ruling party.</p>
<p>Adeleke said he was overwhelmed by the love and support of the electorate.</p>
<p>He pledged his total commitment to the best interest of the people
and the state, saying: “I give praise and adoration to Almighty”.</p>

<p>Oba Lawal, who spoke with reporters, thanked the people for electing Adeleke.</p>
<p>He said: “My feelings cannot be expressed because it happened so sudden but we thank God for the victory.</p>
<p>“I am happy because our son is now the governor-elect and we thank God for that.”</p>
<p>The traditional ruler, however, described Adeleke’s victory as a
victory for the whole state and not for Ede alone, adding: “It is a
victory for the whole people of Osun because he had a wide spread of
votes across the state.</p>
<p>“It is not only votes from Ede alone that gave him the victory, but
the synergy between the people of the state that brought him to power”.</p>

<p><strong>Buhari congratulates Osun people</strong></p>
<p>In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi
Adesina, President Buhari noted that the outcome of the election had
expressed their choice of whom they wanted to lead them.</p>
<p>The President noted that the successful conduct of the election was a
testimonial to the maturity and commitment of all stakeholders.</p>
<p>He said: “President Muhammadu Buhari congratulates Senator Ademola
Adeleke, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), following
victory of the party in Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Osun State.</p>
<p>“With the election over, the President expresses conviction that the
people of Osun have expressed their will through the ballot, and the
will of the people must always matter and be respected in a democracy.</p>
<p>“President Buhari notes that the successful conduct of the election
is a further testimony to the maturity and commitment of all
stakeholders – the electoral body, security agencies, political parties,
the media, civil society and the electorate- to further strengthen the
integrity of the electoral process in the country.</p>
<p>“The President reassures the nation that the commitment of this
administration towards having credible elections remains unshaken.”</p>

<p><strong>Oyetola to supporters: be calm</strong></p>
<p>Oyetola appealed to his supporters to remain calm, saying that the results were being studied.</p>
<p>He said in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Ismail
Omipidan, in Osogbo, the state capital, that APC had taken cognisance of
the results.</p>
<p>The governor, however, noted that the party would be responding
appropriately after studying the results and consulting with critical
stakeholders.</p>
<p>Oyetola, who called on his supporters to remain calm, urged the people to go about their businesses without let or hindrance.</p>
