ARJEN ROBBEN has emerged as a surprise transfer target for Manchester
United following a clash with Bayern Munich team-mate Robert
Lewandowski.
Last week, German newspaper Sport Bild claimed Lewandowski and Robben avoid each other in the dressing room.
And the Polish striker reportedly prefers playing with Douglas Costa and Kingsley Coman because Robben is too “selfish”.
This situation has alerted United who are “monitoring Robben’s growing discontent”, according to the Sunday Mirror.
United boss Louis van Gaal has managed Robben twice in the past with Bayern and Holland.
He has also made clear his desire to sign creative wide players.
"I have said already in my first year many times we need speed and creativity on the wings," he said.
"You have seen that now we play with Jesse Lingard and he is not the
most speedy winger in the world and Mata is also not the most speedy
winger in the world.
"So first we must first finish that problem and then we can see how we
have to play and how we are in balance with playing with speedy winger."
