Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has charged his newly sworn in special advisers to work towards developing the state, stressing that they must make personal sacrifices in line with the current economic realities.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has charged his newly sworn in special advisers to work towards developing the state, stressing that they must make personal sacrifices in line with the current economic realities.
Also on Tuesday, the governor inaugurated the State Post-Primary
Schools Board with the declaration that the board will drive his
administration’s revival of secondary education in the state.
Performing the swearing-in of the Special Advisers to the governor at the Government House, Port Harcourt, Governor Wike noted that their appointments is an opportunity to serve and not to enrich themselves.
He said that as Special Advisers, they are entitled to just one personal aide, pointing out that any Special Adviser who gets more than one personal aide would pay from his personal resources.
“If you you know that you will not work, please throw in the towel now. You have to work hard for the state and ensure that we achieve a New Rivers State in line with our blueprint.
“Some of you may head Ministries. You have to be committed to service delivery . We must remain focused and not be distracted as we deliver on our mandate of creating a New Rivers State “.
The governor urged the appointees to avoid leaking state secrets, saying that they must remain loyal to the state.
Inaugurating the State Post-Primary Schools Board, Governor Wike noted that the board will drive his administration’s total rehabilitation of schools.
He called on the members to ensure that they execute quality jobs in the interest of the develop of the post post basic education.
Responding, the chairman of Rivers State Post-Primary Schools Board, Mr David Briggs assured the people of the state that the board members will develop the structure of secondary education in the state.
In his remarks, Special Adviser to the Governor, Prince Shedrack Akolokwu said that the new appointees will be committed to serving the state diligently.
